Artist Statement

​

      I am a young Artist from Washago, Ontario, studying at Georgian College in the Fine Arts Program. The outdoors and human psychology inspire my work. I paint with acrylics and oils on various materials and use a style balanced by the gestural brush work of impressionism and the attention to detail of realism. My intention is to capture the importance in recognizing the relationship humans and nature share with impermanence, in order to provoke an appreciation for beautiful moments and memories. My most recent work has incorporated the experimentation of using wood as a material with techniques such as burning, carving and staining to add layers of depth to my paintings.
